Are You Sleeping Well? 🛏️
Why Leadership Starts With Rest, Boundaries, and the Right Habits
When I start coaching a leader for the first time, I ask them many questions. One of the first questions:
“Are you sleeping well?”
It might sound like small talk, but it’s not. The answer reveals more about your current leadership state than you might expect.
And right now, many leaders answer: “No, not as well as I’d like.”
Why Leaders Lose Sleep
It’s rarely just about the hours in bed. The real problem starts much earlier in the day:
The workday doesn’t stop
Thoughts keep spinning long after you leave the office
Work comes home, both physically and mentally
Your brain stays in “go mode,” and sleep becomes elusive
This mental overload is often a sign of blurred boundaries. And without boundaries, leadership energy drains quickly.
The Coaching Process: Six Short Sessions, Big Impact
The good news? In just six coaching sessions, 45 minutes each, every two weeks, we can create tangible change:
Set healthy boundaries so work doesn’t consume your evenings
“Drop the pen” – a clear mental signal that the workday is done
Tame the thought carousel so your mind can rest
Be fully present with your team and at home
Develop your people without burning yourself out and help them do the same!
These aren’t abstract ideas – they’re practical tools you can use the same day you learn them.
Why This Matters
Leadership isn’t just about making decisions or delivering results. It’s about showing up with the clarity, calm, and energy your role demands. Poor sleep undermines all three.
When you rest well, you think better. You lead better. You live better.
Let’s Talk
If you’d like to evaluate your leadership style and explore how small, targeted changes can make a big difference, I would live to invite you to a free session. Let’s talk.
And thank you to Koro for inviting me to speak in a hybrid format about impactful leadership – live in person and online at the same time.
Because the way we lead impacts not just our results, but our health, our teams, and our lives.
